Snowing Butterflies: Darwin's Adventures on the Beagle

A one-man show (approx. 45 mins) detailing and retelling the ground-breaking and informative journey of Charles Darwin as he travelled to South America, and the discoveries and realisations made there which would later form the basis for his On the Origin of Species. Part one-man show, part Victorian PowerPoint presentation, Snowing Butterflies brings to life the character and energy of the great thinker, showing him not only as inspiring, but also relatable.

Bligh and the Bounty - the truth

A one-man show (approx. 45 mins) which puts before you captain William Bligh, the dastardly villain which inspired the infamous mutiny. But was he really such a bad guy? What part did Hollywood plan in vilifying a man who was otherwise astute, widely commended and liked (even by those who turned against him)? This presentation draws on biography and court records to bring to life a complex and misunderstood individual, and even if it doesn't set out to blame others, it helps us to understand the man behind the myth.

Frankenstein: Afterglow

An imagined sequel to Mary Shelley's great novel, this piece explores the worth of life as creator is confronted by the created. With Dr Frankenstein at the end of his life, and his complex creation in the ascendency, which truly holds the upper hand, and which has the right to decide who may live, and who may die?
Featuring puppetry, a scintillating soundtrack and powerfully simple staging, Frankenstein: Afterglow will be heading to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025.

Punk Panto presents ... Cinder Hell-yeah!

A fringe-style show (small cast, live music) which reinvents the traditional pantomime format, presenting a Cinders who don't take no rubbish from no-one! With electric guitar accompaniment (and a punk-rocking and totally badass soundtrack), our feisty heroine thwarts her evil stepmother and rejects the advances of a lousy f-boi prince in favour of being the righteous slaying queen she was born to be. Rock on!
Expect adult humour, loud power chords, and lots of torn denim, spiked hair and chains.

Thomas Hardy, The Time-torn Man

A one-man show exploring the strained and controversial relationship between Wessex writer Thomas Hardy and his first wife, Emma. From romantic and dramatic beginnings, through their formative and collaborative mid years right up until the terrible tragic end, their marriage was one of extremes, and - due to Hardy's enigmatic and secretive nature - one which has been open to (mis)interpretation ever since. Drawing on Hardy's own output (his novels, poetry, and his correspondence), The Time-torn Man uncovers the truth through a dramatic presentation, aided by a touch of puppetry.

The First True Clown: the Tumbling Life of Joseph Grimaldi

A one-man show about the strange life of Joseph Grimaldi. Born to an immigrant family and fiercely loyal to the stage which would be his undoing, Grimaldi's life was packed full of innovation and re-invention, episodes of tragedy and of heart-splitting love intrigues. Told through spoken word, lyrical explanation and puppetry, The First True Clown reveals the man who essentially created clowning as we know it today, and hid his own struggles behind his passion for making audiences roar with laughter.

Captain Blizzard's Circus Fantasia

A truly original pantomime project, Captain Blizzard's Circus Fantasia is a colourful and fun explosion of pantomime mayhem, but is a panto unlike any you'll have seen before! For starters, all of the characters are woodland animals and the story centres around Captain Blizzard, an energetic and inspiring squirrel ringmaster for his circus troupe, who travel the country bringing joy and happiness to one and all!

But trouble is brewing ...

The dastardly Bandersnatch is on the prowl, intent on bringing the curtain down on Captain Blizzard's show and destroying the circus for all time! Fortunately, his oddball band of furry theatrical types (with a little help from the obliging locals, and audience), might just be able to help save the day. That is, if Tiny the elephant and the cantankerous traction engine Rosie can be brought to heel.

An original script with a 90's pop and grunge soundtrack, tons of colour, shadow puppetry and a colourful circus aesthetic, Captain Blizzard's Circus Fantasia is a new and enthralling pantomime, with a healthy dash of contemporary pop culture, while distilling essences of both Animals of Farthing Wood and The Greatest Showman. Roll up, and prepare to be amazed!
